Postgame Notes in PDF Format

TOP NOTES

* San Diego State improves to 7-2 on the season, continuing to match the school's best start in the last 33 seasons (since 1977), and marks the Aztecs' best start to a campaign in the last 15 seasons (since SDSU opened 7-2 in 1995).

* San Diego State wins its fourth consecutive game, its longest win streak since a four-game winning streak during the 1998 season. The 1998 team was the last Aztec squad to go to a bowl game, advancing to the Las Vegas Bowl and ending the season with an 8-5 record. The Aztecs went 145 games without putting together a four-game winning streak.

* San Diego State improves to 4-0 at home this season, marking the first time the Aztecs have won their first four home games of a season since 1996. That season, the Aztecs posted a perfect 6-0 home record. The last time the Aztecs won four consecutive home games was during a five-game stretch from Oct. 9, 1998 to Sept. 4, 1999.

* San Diego State has defeated Colorado State, Wyoming, New Mexico and Air Force in the same season for the first time in school history. This is the 29th time in school history that the Aztecs have played all four of those teams in the same season, but the first time they have defeated all four of the long-time rival in the same season.

* San Diego State is 11-10 in 21 games under Brady Hoke. The 11 wins is equal to the total number of victories the Aztecs had in the 39 games prior to his arrival when SDSU went 11-28.

* Despite having three regular-season games remaining, San Diego State's seven victories this season surpass its win total from the last 11 seasons (since 1998) and match or surpass the win total from the past 13 seasons (since 1996).

* This is the first time an Aztec team has been five-games above .500 at any point during the season since SDSU owned an 8-3 record in the 1996 campaign.

* San Diego State defeats Colorado State in San Diego for just the second time since 1993. The Aztecs are now 2-6 in their last eight home games against the Rams, claiming victories in 2006 and 2010 ... SDSU has rallied to win after trailing in the second half against the Rams for the second year in a row ... Tonight is the first time SDSU has rallied to win from a second-half deficit for the first time overall since the New Mexico game on Oct. 31, 2009 (W, 23-20).

* SDSU has scored a touchdown in the final two minutes of the first half in six different outings in 2010, including in each of the last three (also vs. Nicholls, at NMSU, at Missouri, at New Mexico, at Wyoming, vs. CSU) ... San Diego State is 6-0 in those games ... The Aztecs have put points on the board in the final two minutes of the first half in seven of nine contests overall, which includes a Abel Perez field goal as time expired vs. Air Force. ... SDSU is 7-0 in those games.

* With the Brandon Sullivan's second quarter TD, the Aztecs have scored a touchdown in 47 straight games.

* The Aztec defense had 10 tackles for loss, including four sacks, in the first half alone and ended up with a season-best 13 TFLs in the game, including five sacks ... SDSU has posted double-figures in stops behind the line of scrimmage in back-to-back outings (10 at Wyoming) and three times overall in 2010 (also 12 vs. Nicholls).

* SDSU has intercepted a pass in seven consecutive outings for the first time since doing so in 11 straight contests from Dec. 2, 2006 until Nov. 17, 2007.

* SDSU has scored 21 or more points in 10 straight outings. It is the team's longest such streak since a 14-game streak from Nov. 25, 1989 to Sept. 14, 1991.

PLAYER NOTES

- Ronnie Hillman, Freshman RB: Fourth career 100-yard rushing game in nine outings this season (also vs. AFA, Missouri, NMSU) ... Went over 1,000 rushing yards on the season, becoming the third Aztec freshman to reach that milestone, joining Marshall Faulk (1,429 yards in 1991) and Lynell Hamilton (1,087 yards in 2004) ... First Aztec to run for over 1,000 yards in a season since Hamilton in 2004 ... First SDSU player to run for over 1,000 yards in the first nine games of his freshman season ... Scored his 12th rushing TD of the season, tying for 10th in SDSU single-season history (most since Larry Ned in 2001 - 15 TDs) ... Hillman's four, 100-yard rushing games already tie him for 17th in Aztec career history.

- Brandon Sullivan, Senior FB: Has four, one-yard rushing touchdowns in the last two outings (3 at Wyoming) ... The four are his first rushing scores of the season and gives him 11 for his career ... Also added a receiving touchdown in the fourth quarter, his second of the season and fourth of his career ... Has a rushing and a receiving TD in the same game two times now in his career, with the other being in 2008 vs. Cal Poly.

- Ryan Lindley, Junior QB: Became the third Aztec to go over the 8,000-yard mark in career passing yards ... Moved to within one start of tying the school record for consecutive starts by an SDSU quarterback. He has started 27 straight games, trailing only Billy Blanton, who started 28 games from 1994-96.

- Miles Burris, Junior LB: Sensational first half with seven tackles, including six solos, two sacks, three TFLs and a pair of forced fumbles ... Ended the evening with a career-best in tackles with 10, including two sacks, and four TFLs

- Abel Perez, Junior PK: Has made six straight field goals, including one tonight, over the last three games.

- Andrew Preston, Senior DB: Posted his second career interception in the third quarter and his second in as many outings (also vs. Wyoming).

- DeMarco Sampson, WR: Has caught a pass in 23 consecutive outings.

OTHER NOTES

- SDSU's streak of consecutive quarters with at least a point scored came to an end tonight following the first 15 minutes of action. The 11-quarter streak had been the team's longest since also scoring in 11 straight from Nov. 22, 2002 through Sept. 6, 2003.

- The fumble by Walter Kazee was the first lost by the SDSU offense since the 4:19 mark of the first quarter of the opener with Nicholls (by Ronnie Hillman). Entering the game, SDSU had only four fumbles on the season with three coming on special teams.

- SDSU blocked its second opponent field-goal attempt of the year in the second quarter by redshirt freshman Jerome Long (first career). Junior Logan Ketchum had the Aztecs' other blocked field goal in 2010 vs. Nicholls.
