SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State softball program will hold its Underclassmen Day on Saturday, Nov. 6, for current high school freshmen, sophomores and juniors. The event gives prospective college student-athletes and their families a chance to meet Aztec coaches and players and learn general information about the college athletic experience while getting a feel for what SDSU has to offer.

Check in and registration for the event will be held at 10:30 a.m. at Tony Gwynn Stadium on the San Diego State campus. The program will begin at 11:15 a.m. with student-athletes and their families getting the opportunity to gain information about SDSU from presentations by San Diego State's Athletic Director, Compliance Officer, Strength and Conditioning Coach, Academic Advisor and the softball coaching staff.

Attendees will then be broken up into groups for a full tour of the campus and its facilities at noon. Lunch will be made available for a reasonable cost at Tony Gwynn Stadium after campus tours. The day will conclude with participants being given the chance to watch the Aztec softball team in action when they play Western Arizona CC at 1 p.m. at the Softball Complex.

Underclassmen Day is a chance for non-senior high school student-athletes to learn about the San Diego State softball program as well as general recruiting and eligibility procedures. The cost is $5 for one prospective student-athlete and two guests.

Individuals interested in attending can register at www.aztecsoftballcamps.com. For questions contact Assistant Coach Mia Longfellow at mlongfellow@mail.sdsu.edu.
