AZTEC STORY LINES
- San Diego State opens a three-match homestand this week as Cal State Fullerton and Cal Poly visit SDSU Sports Deck. The Titans and Aztecs will play on Friday at 1:30 p.m. PT. Two days later, SDSU will entertain the Mustangs on Sunday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. The games are the final two of San Diego State's non-conference schedule before opening Mountain West play at home against TCU on Oct. 1.

- The Aztecs returned to San Diego late Sunday night after going 0-1-1 at the Oregon State Nike Invitational in Corvallis, Ore. SDSU lost in overtime in heart-breaking fashion to Oregon, 2-1, to open tournament action. Then on Sunday, San Diego State received two goals from Michaela DeJesus, but wound up tying No. 18 Oregon State, 2-2. The decision snapped the Beavers' five-match winning streak to begin the campaign.

- Senior Michaela DeJesus enjoyed a breakout game vs. the nationally ranked Beavers as she netted a pair of goals. The two scores and four points established single-game career highs and she almost single-handily won the game for the Aztecs. For the season, DeJesus has team-leading figures of three goals and seven points, giving her a new career high for goals in a season and leaving her one point short of matching her personal best for points in a single season.

- Sophomore Sarah Halverson gave San Diego State the lead in its match with Oregon on Friday to become the first Aztec this season to score multiple goals this year. Prior to the contest, SDSU had six different players score one goal apiece. The Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif., native enters the Cal State Fullerton match with two goals and five points, which rank second on the team behind DeJesus.

- Senior Aubree Southwick racked up 22 saves, including a career-high 16 at No. 18 Oregon State, this past weekend. The senior's effort vs. the Beavers eclipsed her previous career high of 10 at Nebraska in 2007 and earlier this season at No. 9 Florida. Southwick has 57 saves this season, which leads the Mountain West Conference, and 310 for her career. The all-time SDSU career saves leader enters the week with 106 more than Lorena Snyder, who currently ranks No. 2 in school history.

- At the conclusion of the Oregon State Nike Invitational, three Aztecs were honored for their performance by being named to the all-tournament team. DeJesus was one of four midfielders, while freshmen Soledad Gomez and Haley Palmer were one of four forwards and four defenders, respectively, to be recognized.

- San Diego State will meet Cal State Fullerton for the 12th time in the history of the series. The Aztecs have lost the last two meetings (2006, 2008), but still own the all-time series lead, 7-4. The Titans have had SDSU's number recently, winning the last two and three of the last four overall. San Diego State's last victory in the series came in 2005, a 2-0 win in Fullerton. The Scarlet and Black is 3-2 vs. the Titans in San Diego.

- The Aztecs have played Cal Poly six previous times and won four of those meetings, including the last two by 1-0 scores. This is the first meeting between the schools since SDSU's 2008 trip to San Luis Obispo. Of the six previous match-ups, only two have taken place in San Diego (1995, 2007) and both resulted in San Diego State victories.

- Cal State Fullerton and Cal Poly are both members of the Big West Conference. In matches vs. the Big West, San Diego State is 40-20-5 all time against current members of the league. In its one friendly this season, the Aztecs beat Big West school Long Beach State on the road, 2-1. A year ago, SDSU went 2-1-1 vs. the Big West (lost vs. Cal State Northridge, tied at UC Riverside, beat Long Beach State and UC Irvine).

- San Diego State is 9-2-2 in their last 13 vs. unranked foes and the Aztecs are unbeaten in 18 of their last 20 vs. unranked opponents (13-2-5) dating back to last season. Cal State Fullerton and Cal Poly come into the weekend unranked.
