SAN DIEGO - San Diego State will hold its annual football media day on Friday, Aug. 6, featuring second-year head coach Brady Hoke and selected players. The participants will answer questions and speak to local San Diego media about the opening of fall camp on Monday, Aug. 9.
The event will kick off at Noon PT with Hoke taking center stage, followed by a Q&A session with Ryan Lindley, DeMarco Sampson, Marcus Yarbrough and Jacob Tauanuu. The proceedings will be streamed live on GoAztecs.com. Video footage and quotes will be available online later in the day.
Lindley and Sampson were named the team's co-offensive players of the year in 2009. Lindley ranked second in the Mountain West Conference in passing yards per game (254.5), while Sampson garnered second-team all-conference honors after career and team highs of 62 catches, 851 yards and eight touchdowns.
Yarbrough is the team's No. 3 returning tackler after tallying 41 tackles in 2009. Tauanuu earned MWC all-academic honors last season while finishing with 23 tackles (five for losses), two sacks and a forced fumble.
San Diego State will kick off the 2010 season at home against Nicholls State on Saturday, Sept. 4. Tickets start at just $5 for the home opener, and season tickets for all six home contests start at just $56. The ticket office is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
