SAN DIEGO - San Diego State has been named the potential surprise team of the Mountain West Conference in the Yahoo! Sports 2010 College Football Preview.
The annual publication listed the SDSU passing game of junior quarterback Ryan Lindley and returning targets Vincent Brown, DeMarco Sampson and Alston Umuolo as one to watch in head coach Brady Hoke's second season.
"The returns of quarterback Ryan Lindley and wide receiver Vincent Brown give the Aztecs one of the more dynamic pass-catching combinations on the West Coast," said the preview.
Wide receiver Vincent Brown (Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.) was named to the All-Mountain West Conference Team by Yahoo! Sports after catching 45 passes for 778 yards and six touchdowns in an injury-shortened 2009 campaign.
The Aztecs kick off their 2010 season with a home date against Nicholls State on Sept 4. Other important dates include the Sept. 25 KGB Sky Show and Kirk Morrison Replica Jersey Night on Nov. 20.
