In the fifth inning, freshman Patrice Jackson (Kansas City, Mo.) led off with a single and advanced to third base on back-to-back groundouts by redshirt junior Lindsey Marquez (Tustin, Calif.) and junior Jen Wisneski (Riverside, Calif.). May followed with a pinch-hit single up the middle for her second straight game-winning RBI. May is 10-for-25 (.400) with seven RBIs as a pinch hitter this season. Knudsen added to the 1-0 advantage in the sixth when she led off with a home run over the right field wall. It was her second of the season and ninth of her career. Later in the inning, redshirt freshman pinch runner Roshana Lavery (San Diego/Mission Bay HS) scored from third on a bunt single by junior Eva Sahatdjian (Fresno, Calif.) for San Diego State's final run of the contest. Junior Jessica Camello (Temecula, Calif.) and sophomore Justeen Maeva (San Diego/Mira Mesa HS/Cal State Bakersfield) each doubled for the Aztecs, who improved to 27-1 this season when outhitting their opponent. Jackson singled and walked for SDSU, which is batting .322 in conference games this season. Junior Samantha Beasley (San Diego/Steele Canyon HS) tossed a complete game shutout to improve to 24-7 on the season. She allowed three hits and a season-high five walks, while striking out six over seven innings. Beasley, who was left off the 2010 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year Top 25 Finalist list, despite ranking third in the nation in ERA and ninth in strikeouts, is 19-2 with a 0.72 ERA since Feb. 27 (135 1/3 innings).
