SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State men's tennis team will look to carry its recent success into the weekend when it hosts UC Riverside, and Mountain West Conference foes Air Force and New Mexico at the Aztec Tennis Center.
The 75th-ranked Aztecs (6-11) will open their weekend with matches on Friday against UC Riverside at 10 a.m. PT and Air Force at 3 p.m. PT. SDSU will then play host to New Mexico on Sunday at 11 a.m. PT. Admission is free and parking is available in Parking Structure 5, which is located at the corner of 55th Street and Montezuma Road.
Since opening the season with a 2-10 record, the Aztecs have showed resiliency over the last three weeks, highlighted by dramatic back-to-back 4-3 victories against No. 66 TCU and No. 58 San Diego.
Senior Juan Gomez and sophomore Luis Rattenhuber, who form the No. 76 ranked doubles team in the country, have been critical to the team's success. While dominating the opposition as pair, Gomez and Rattenhuber individually rallied for three-set victories in singles action against TCU and USD, respectively.
