WALNUT, Calif. - Alicia King and Briana Johnson each posted season-best marks with top-10 finishes in their respective events to lead the San Diego State track and field team Friday at the prestigious Mt. Sac Relays in Walnut, Calif.
King equaled her season-best time in the 100-meter dash (open university/open) to take eighth in 12.08 seconds. She also ran a season-best time of 25.04 in the 200 (open university/open).
Johnson, meanwhile, was eighth in the 100-meter hurdles (open university/open) in a season-best time of 13.87. Her 2010-best time coming into the weekend was 14.13, set at the USC Trojan Invitational on March 20.
Amy Brown shaved almost a second off her season-best clocking in the 800, completing the two-lap run in 2:14.90, while Alma Escobar's 36:48.43 10,000-meter time run on Thursday night was more than a minute and a half faster than her season-best mark of 38:21.87 (March 27).
SDSU will send the majority of its athletes to Norwalk, Calif., on Saturday to compete in the Beach Invitational.
