FAIRBANKS RANCH, Calif. - Building on its win over Furman last week, the San Diego State men's tennis team took that momentum into its match with Tulane and defeated the Green Wave, 5-2, at Fairbanks Ranch Country Club on Saturday morning. The Aztecs won the doubles point and received four singles victories, including two at the top of the order, in posting their fourth win of the season.

SDSU continued to get positive results out of its doubles teams and claimed the early point after sweeping all three matches in 1-2-3 fashion. Juan Gomez and Luis Rattenhuber were the first group off the court after they dispatched Rodrigo Rappaccioli and Adam Bernstein, 8-5. Then the tandems of Achim Vladimirschii-Giovanni Vaglietti and Andre Feliz-Tim Schulz van Endert each posted 8-4 decisions over their counterparts at Nos. 2 and 3, respectively, to secure the point for the Aztecs.

In singles, San Diego State wasted little time in earning the necessary four points to earn the win. Vladimirschii make quick work of Shaye Wali at No. 1, beating the Green Wave's top player in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2. Not long after that, Jakub Kowalski notched his first win of any kind as an Aztec when he beat Trevor Getz, 6-0, 6-2, to increase SDSU's lead to 3-0.

With San Diego State on the verge of clinching the match, Andre Feliz came through in his contest with Coby Kramer-Golinkoff and hung a 7-5, 6-2 defeat on his opponent to ensure SDSU's second consecutive victory.

Gomez, ranked No. 98 in the latest ITA singles rankings, then recorded the Aztecs' fifth team point when he defeated Joe Young at No. 2, 6-4, 6-4. With the match already decided, Tulane posted wins at Nos. 4 and 3 to provide the final margin.

SDSU will look to run its winning streak to three on Thursday, April 1, when it makes the trip to Malibu, Calif., to take on 30th-ranked Pepperdine. First serve is set for 3 p.m. PT.
