FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - The San Diego State track and field team finished up a light first day at the Mountain T's Invitational in Flagstaff, Ariz., taking fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh in the open long jump.
Freshman Kierstan Kirkland made an impressive debut as an Aztec, taking fourth of 11 with a jump of 16 feet, 10 inches. Kirkland was followed by sophomore Julianne Alarcio, who took fifth in 16-02.50, freshman Laurel Volzey (16-01.50) and sophomore Kelsey Kaster (15-00.75).
SDSU will have a full day of action tomorrow at the J L Walkup Skydome, beginning with the invitational high jump at 9:45 a.m. MT.
