San Diego State athletics will once again host "A Night with the Aztecs" presented by Bledsoe Brace Systems on Wednesday, Feb. 17, at Viejas Arena beginning at 6 p.m. PT. The third annual event will feature appearances by Aztec legends and current student-athletes and coaches. This fundraising event will include fantastic live and silent auction items with proceeds benefiting the student-athlete scholarship fund for all 18 intercollegiate sports offered by SDSU.
"A Night with the Aztecs is a great opportunity for Aztec fans, donors and alumni to meet current coaches, student-athletes and past Aztec greats," associate athletic director Bob Moosbrugger said. "Proceeds from the evening directly support the scholarship fund for all 18 sports. In the 2009-10 academic year alone, Aztec athletics will provide over $6 million in financial aid to SDSU student-athletes."
After groundbreaking success in 2008 and 2009, surpassing goals by nearly $100,000 collectively, "A Night with the Aztecs" is again slated to be an exciting evening of food, spirits and camaraderie with the San Diego community, Aztec coaches and student-athletes.
Many items will be up for bid, including the following:
- Tickets for the NCAA Final Four, BCS National Championship Game, Fiesta Bowl and the Super Bowl
- Dinner for eight with head football coach Brady Hoke
- A one week stay at a Kauai Private Beachfront Vacation Home
- Don Coryell Lifetime Achievement signed photo
- Stephen Strasburg signed memorabilia
- Aztec Men's Basketball Coach of the Game: Two (2) seats on the Aztec men's basketball bench for the Feb. 20 game vs. MWC foe Utah
- A round of golf for two (2) with Aztec legend Marshall Faulk and head football coach Brady Hoke
These items plus many more unique opportunities!
Ticket prices to attend "A Night with the Aztecs" are individually priced at $50 or $1,500 for a VIP table with seating for 10. A delicious variety of food and beverage will be provided by restaurants and vendors like Old Town Mexican Café, L&L Hawaiian Barbeque, Nick's Neighborhood Restaurants, Svedka Vodka, Wilson Creek Winery, and One Hope Wines.
In addition to ticket and auction item sales, the Aztec Athletic Foundation will also be accepting monetary donations toward our annual "Special Ask". This year, these donations will go directly to providing much needed summer school opportunities for our student-athletes.
