SAN DIEGO - After finishing their 2009 fall campaigns early last month, the San Diego State men's and women's golf teams got together to support the Pro Kids organization during the afternoon of Nov. 18, at the 14-acre, 18-hole, par-3 Colina Park Golf Course in City Heights.
One player from each of the men's and women's teams played against two kids, each of whom were under 10 years old. The Aztecs played an alternate shot format and the kids played a scramble format, with the kids prevailing at the end of the day.
Afterwards, both sides got together for a late afternoon snack and were able to talk about their golf games and lives in general.
According to its website, Pro Kids' mission is to challenge underserved youth to excel in life by promoting character development, life skills, and values through education and the game of golf. The organization was founded in 1994, and offers free golf instruction as well as life-skills classes and has served more than 13,000 children since its inception.
