SAN DIEGO -

Charlie Davies, a member of the U.S. National Team and brother of current Aztec redshirt sophomore Justin Davies (San Diego/Brooks School (Mass.)), is recovering from surgery after sustaining injuries in a one-car accident near Washington, D.C., early Tuesday morning. He is listed in stable condition.

U.S. Soccer will release additional information when it becomes available on their official site.

"Our Aztec Soccer Family remains in close contact with Justin about his brother," SDSU 10th-year head coach Lev Kirshner said. "The word is...Charlie's surgeries were successful and there is great relief within the Davies family. Our staff and players will continue to support Justin, Charlie, and his family as they attempt to heal from this tragic occurrence. We also want to deliver our best wishes and condolences to the other people and families involved."
