After a road game at UCLA, the Aztecs will play their first home contest under new head coach Brady Hoke against Southern Utah on Sept. 12, at 5:30 p.m. At the end of the game, Qualcomm Stadium will be taken over by the largest fireworks display in the county for the annual KGB SkyShow. This is the sixth season that an SDSU football game has played host to the event, with the previous five contests averaging crowds of 52,724.

The home opener versus the Thunderbirds has also been designated as Football Alumni Weekend, with all former Aztec football letterwinners invited back to the game. The team's match-up with New Mexico State on Oct. 3, is Brian Sipe Replica Jersey night, presented by Associated Students. The first 20,000 fans will receive a replica jersey in honor of the former Aztec quarterback and current assistant coach, who was a two-time All-American before garnering NFL MVP honors in 1980 as a member of the Cleveland Browns.

San Diego State will play host to a Go Green Expo at Aztec Village in the Qualcomm parking lot prior to the Oct. 3 contest, while it is also SDSU Parents/Family Weekend and Band Day.

The Aztecs' first home Mountain West Conference outing on Oct. 17, against Brigham Young is the GEICO Fleet Week Classic, which honors the men and women of the military, as well as the annual homecoming game. Special festivities include the coronation of the Homecoming King and Queen at halftime and student chariot races.

On Halloween, the Aztecs will celebrate Retro Night as they take on New Mexico starting at 4:30 p.m. Single-game ticket prices will all be rolled back with club and press level seats going for only $16, plaza sideline for $14, plaza corner for $11, field and plaza/loge endzone for $9 and public general admission for $6. Groups of 20 or more can purchase tickets at a special discounted price of $5 apiece and hot dogs will be just $1 at concession stands in the stadium.

Aztec Hall of Fame and Aztecs Legacy Weekend are two promotions slated for the team's contest with TCU on Nov. 7, beginning at 1 p.m. The game features the annual recognition of the newest class of inductees into the Hall of Fame as well as student-athlete alumni from all of SDSU's sports. The San Diego Union-Tribune will be sponsoring a Youth and Family Night with tickets selling for just $10 with a minimum of four, a savings of 50 percent.

San Diego State's final home contest of 2009 is Nov. 14 versus Wyoming. Each of the Aztec football seniors will be honored prior to the game, while halftime includes a performance by area youth with the SDSU cheer and dance squads. Local youth football teams can receive discounted ticket prices and can check out pregame action from the sidelines prior to the 7 p.m. meeting with the Cowboys.

Season-long promotions include the Aztec Football Meal Deal, which includes a hot dog, bag of chips and a soda for only $6 at Qualcomm Stadium concession stands. Students can participate in special tailgates prior to each home game with food, entertainment and prizes. Aztec Village also returns to the Qualcomm Stadium parking lot (Section F-1) with food, live entertainment, inflatable games for kids and special appearances by SDSU student-athletes and coaches.

Other exciting 2009 San Diego State football promotions will be announced at a later date.
