COLLEGE STATION, Texas - San Diego State seniors Karoline Koehler and Decontee Kaye placed third and eighth, respectively, at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships held at Texas A&M in College Station, Texas, on Saturday.

In her second consecutive appearance at the indoor national meet, Koehler matched her third place finish from a year ago with a leap of 44 feet, 1.50 inches. Last season, the senior jumped a personal-record 44 feet, 8.25 inches, to finish in third place. That effort broke her own school record of 43-5.00, which was set earlier that year.

Kaye, who made her first appearance at the indoor national meet, finished eighth in the triple jump after posting a mark of 42 feet, 11.50 inches. A 2007 All-American, the senior has qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships in each of the last two seasons and finished in fourth place in the triple jump in 2007. A year ago, Kaye was not as fortunate as she finished 18th overall in the qualifying round of the triple jump.

Kimberly Williams of Florida State won the event with an effort of 45 feet, 3.75 inches.

San Diego State earned 7.00 points behind the performances of Koehler and Kaye to finish in 34th place among the 60 Division I schools to score points and third among Mountain West Conference members.
