FRESNO, Calif. - The San Diego State men's tennis team concluded a successful weekend at the Bulldog Classic on Sunday afternoon. Sophomore Tim Schulz van Endert and junior Michael Beron both won their respective draws to highlight the final day of the tournament.
Schulz van Endert picked up his fifth singles victory of the tournament, knocking off fourth-seeded Flavio Mollinedo of Fresno State, 6-1, 6-0, to claim the B Draw title. Beron, meanwhile, capped his run in the C Draw consolation bracket with a 6-3, 4-6, 10-6 triumph over the University of San Diego's Tom Wolff.
In other action, Luis Rattenhuber fell to Skyler Tateishi of Washington, 6-4, 6-3, in the semifinals of the B Draw consolation bracket. Over in the semifinals of the consolation A Draw, Andre Feliz dropped a 6-2, 6-1 decision to UC Irvine's Khunpol Issara.
San Diego State will continue its fall tournament season at the Wilson/ITA West Regional Championships in Malibu, Calif., from Oct. 16-19.
