SAN DIEGO - San Diego State quarterback Ryan Lindley has been announced as a San Diego Hall of Champions Star of the Month for September. Lindley is one of five college athletes to be recognized for their outstanding performances.

The Alpine, Calif., native was named the Mountain West Conference Offensive Player of the Week after he threw for 433 yards and four touchdowns in SDSU's 45-17 win over Idaho. He is the 14th Aztec to throw for over 400 yards in a single game.

The Idaho game marked his second 300-yard passing game of the season, the first was during the Cal Poly game in which he threw for 352 yards. Lindley is the 16th Aztec to post at least two 300-yard passing games in a career.

Lindley was redshirted as a true freshman during the 2007 season. He has made an impressive debut in 2008, also throwing for 274 yards at Notre Dame.

The Stars of the Month from throughout the 2008 calendar year will be honored at the 63rd annual Salute to the Champions dinner on February 18, 2009 at the Town and Country Hotel. The Hall of Champions has been presenting Star of the Month plaques since 1946.
