SAN DIEGO (AP) -- Devon Beitzel scored 15 points and Jefferson Mason 14 as Northern Colorado stunned San Diego State, 62-56, in a non-conference game Wednesday. The Bears (8-8, and 2-2 in the Big Sky Conference) won their first road game of the season, snapping a seven-game road losing streak.

The Aztecs (11-4, 1-0 in the Mountain West Conference) had their 13-game home winning streak snapped.The game was tied nine times with 10 lead changes. San Diego State had a 50-48 lead before Thanasi Panagiotakopoulos notched his only basket of the night tying the game for the last time at 50-50.

Jabril Banks, who had nine point and eight rebounds cashed in a free throw for the Bears who took a 51-50 lead with two minutes left to play. Mason came up with a tremendous block on the Aztecs' Lorenzo Wade (11 points).

And on the ensuing in-bounds play by San Diego State, Panagiotakopoulos, who directed the Bears offense, came up with a steal and sent Beitzel away for an uncontested layup and a 53-50 advantage with 1:34 left. A three-point play by Mason and two free-throws by Banks with 25.6 seconds left put the Bears in control.

Taylor Montgomery had 13 points and eight rebounds for Northern Colorado, which last season went 4-24.

Kelvin Davis led San Diego State with 18 points, hitting on four of six from three-point range while Kyle Spain contributed 16 points.
