SAN DIEGO (AP)- Ryan Lindley, a redshirt freshman, completed 24 of 38 passes for 433 yards and four touchdowns as San Diego State won its first game of the year, beating Idaho, 45-17, Saturday night.
Vincent Brown, who caught eight passes for 183 yards, scored on TD strikes of 41 and 48 yards in the second quarter and added a 51-yarder midway through the third. Lindley, who surpassed Todd Santos' previous school freshman mark of 418 yards (1984), added his fourth TD pass on a 45-yard hookup to Brandon Sullivan early in the fourth quarter.
Mekell Wesley also passed the 100-yard reception mark for San Diego State (1-3, 0-0 MWC), with six catches for 109 yards.
Aztec running back Atiyyah Henderson surpassed the 1,000 yard career rushing mark, picking up 100 yards on 21 carries. He scored two touchdowns on runs of three and four yards.
Lane Yoshida, who booted six PATs, also added a 26-yard field goal that ignited a 17-point second quarter as San Diego State took a 24-3 lead at the half.
Idaho (1-4, 0-1 WAC) got a 28-yard field goal from Tino Amancio late in the second quarter and added two fourth quarter scores -- one on a two-yard TD run by Troy Vital and a 12-yard run by Princeton McCarty. McCarty led his team with 82 yards on 12 carries.
San Diego State had three pass interceptions on the night including two in the end zone.
