SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State football team logged a light two-hour practice without pads Friday afternoon, its final one of 2008 spring drills at its on-campus facility. The workout comes on the eve of the annual Red-Black Game slated for Saturday beginning at 1 p.m. at Mission Hills High School in San Marcos, Calif.

Aztec head coach Chuck Long said after practice that Saturday's intrasquad scrimmage would involve 25 to 30 plays of "thud" drills (non-tackling), before concluding with approximately 30 plays of tackling. SDSU will open the workout with an individual period, followed by 7-on-7, offense versus defense and special teams plays.

The intrasquad scrimmage is the Aztecs' 15th and final practice of 2008 spring drills and is free to the public. Fans can get season ticket information for the upcoming 2008 campaign at the Aztec Athletics table during the Red-Black Game.

This is the fourth straight year that SDSU has held the annual spring scrimmage at a local high school, practicing at Helix High School in 2007, Torrey Pines High School in 2006 and Vista High School in 2005.
