WALNUT, Calif. - San Diego State senior Alicia Lowery qualified for the NCAA West Regionals in the 100-meter dash and three personal records were set to go along with two seasonal bests on Friday at the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif.

Lowery, a San Diego native, finished in first place of her timed section final of the 100 with a personal-best and NCAA regional-qualifying time of 11.74 seconds. With her effort, the senior joined junior Shana Solomon as the only Aztecs to secure at spot in the event at regionals. Lowery also ran in the 200, finishing in seventh with a personal-record mark of 24.17.

Junior Decontee Kaye also competed in both the 100 and 200 and established a lifetime best in the 100 with a time of 11.86, while coming in fifth in her timed section final. Later in the 200, Kaye crossed the finish line in 24.28 and placed 10th.

Another double-event Aztec on the day was freshman Kyanna Thomas. A product of Fresno, Calif., Thomas was a runner-up in the open of the 400 with a season-best clocking of 54.92 and then recorded a time of 24.96 in the 200 to finish in 24th.

Classmate Briana Johnson ran in the 100-meter hurdles and put up a season-best performance. The freshman from Orlando, Fla., logged not only a season-low time, but a San Diego State team-best clocking of 14.28 while coming in third overall.

The Aztecs will resume Mt. SAC action on Sunday while other SDSU athletes will travel to Cerritos, Calif., on Saturday for the Beach Invitational beginning at 9 a.m.
