OKLAHOMA CITY - Sophomore Caitlin Atkinson and junior Megan Flanagan concluded the 2007-08 campaign at the NCAA Zone E Diving Regionals, March 13-14, at the Oklahoma City Community College Aquatic Center. Both Aztec divers competed in the NCAA championship qualifying meet for the second consecutive year.

The 1-meter event, which took place on Thursday evening, featured a strong field of 42 divers, and was pared down to 18 after the preliminary round. Despite solid performances from both Aztecs, neither Atkinson nor Flanagan was able to advance to the finals as they finished 25th (218.05) and 36th (205.05), respectively.

Both divers also competed on the 3-meter board on Friday morning. Atkinson accumulated a point total of 204.40 for 36th place, while Flanagan came in at No. 38 (201.65).

Although the Aztecs were unable to advance to the finals, it was another strong season for the SDSU diving squad. For the second straight year, the Scarlet and Black shattered school records on both springboards. Flanagan established the top score in school history in the 3-meter event (300.83), while Atkinson bettered her previous school record on the 1-meter board (280.88).
