OKLAHOMA CITY - The San Diego State women's swimming and diving team remained in eighth place after the second day of the Mountain West Conference championships at the Oklahoma City Community College Aquatic Center. The Aztecs have totaled 81 points through eight events.

Brittany Daly kicked off the individual swimming events with a 12th-place showing in the 500 freestyle preliminaries (5:01.13) to advance to the finals where she swam a season-best 5:00.07 to finish 13th overall. Also in the 500 free, Kyla Power notched a lifetime-best 5:05.08, but was unable to advance to the finals with a 19th-place finish.

In the 50 free prelims, Christine Graham and Brooke Vessey tied for 26th place, as they both clocked in at 24.71. That mark was a season-best for both and also a lifetime-best for Graham. Stephanie Henderson was right behind the top two Aztec finishers in 28th place with a season-low 24.74. Katie Leahy (25.05) and Kathleen Merrill (26.16) also recorded personal-best marks.

On the 3-meter board, both Caitlin Atkinson and Kathleen Heuring advanced to the finals, where Atkinson had a 14th-place performance with a score of 230.75, while Heuring finished with a score of 226.85 (16th overall).

The four-day meet will continue on Thursday with preliminaries beginning at 8 a.m. PT. The events that are scheduled for tomorrow include the 400 IM, 100 butterfly, 200 free, 100 breaststroke, 100 backstroke and the 400 medley relay.
