SAN DIEGO (AP) - Lorrenzo Wade scored 18 points as San Diego State held on for a 64-57 win over TCU Saturday night in the Mountain West opener for both teams.

The Aztecs held a 19-point halftime lead and still led by the same margin with just over than eight minutes left before TCU mounted a comeback. The Horned Frogs cut the lead to seven three times, but could get no closer.

San Diego State (11-3) went 9-for-10 from the free throw line in the final minute to maintain their lead.

Ryan Amoroso and Kelvin Davis each scored 12 points for the Aztecs, who won despite 21 turnovers and 3-of-14 3-point shooting.

Kevin Langford scored 20 points to lead TCU (8-6), which lost its third straight game. Henry Salter added 14 points, including four 3-pointers.

San Diego State (11-3) broke open the game early when it outscored the Horned Frogs 18-1 over a 7 1/2-minute stretch in the first half to take a 23-6 lead with 7:42 left.

TCU had a tough shooting first half, making just four of 26 shots. After Langford hit a jumper to tie the score at 5 at the 17:23 mark, the Horned Frogs went 14 1/2 minutes without a field goal. Ryan Wall's 3-pointer finally broke the drought with 2:53 left as the Aztecs led 28-11.

The Aztecs were ahead 47-28 when Salter led the Horned Frogs on a 13-2 run with three 3-pointers to cut the lead to 49-41 with 4:33 remaining.
