Senior guard Kate Eveland
On the upcoming season:
"The season is creeping up quickly. It's exciting because we have a lot of new faces with redshirts and people who sat out last season after transferring. Now they'll get a chance to play and we're excited."
On the development of the program:
"We were the 11th-most improved team in the nation last year and that set a precedent for this year's team to improve that much more."
On head coach Beth Burns:
"She is our leader. She is the one who keeps us motivated and keeps us focused. She has brought in some great players like (sophomore guard) Jené Morris and that shows what she wants to accomplish with this program."
On the team's goals for the upcoming season:
"We want to finish in the top of our conference. We are also looking to win a few games in our conference tournament. We want to have a winning season and carry that over to the postseason."
On the differences in this year's team:
"We come into this season with a little bit more size with Desiree Johnson's younger sister, Paris, at center, who is 6-foot-4. We also added Allison Duffy to the post who is 6-foot-2.
Sophomore guard Quenese Davis
On the team's strengths:
"I think we will be a faster team this year. The additions of Jené Morris and my younger sister Coco Davis will make us much quicker."
On the expectations of this year's squad:
"I expect a lot more energy in practice. Coach (Burns) always emphasizes energy. The coaches are also always pushing us to focus on what is in the best interest of the team."
