* - San Diego State scored first today marking the sixth time in the Chuck Long era (13 games) that San Diego State has scored first. The Aztecs entered the game 21-14 since 2002 when scoring first.
* - Today marked the fifth time in the Long era that San Diego State scored points on the first drive of the game.
* - Washington State scored on its first possession of the game, marking just the second time in the last eight games the Aztecs have yielded points on the first possession of the game.
* - San Diego State scored 10 points in the first quarter, marking the third time in the 13 games of the Long era that the Aztecs have scored at least 10 points in the first quarter.
LONG RUN
* - SDSU senior tailback Brandon Bornes logged the longest run of his career with a 59-yard effort for a score in the first quarter. Bornes' previous longest run was for 41 yards versus Utah in 2004. The 59-yard run is the team's longest from scrimmage since Kevin O'Connell had a 61-yarder at Utah in 2005.
NOW STARTING
* - The Aztecs had seven players make their first career starts. On offense, seniors Fred Amano (right guard) and Steve Schmidt (tight end), along with redshirt freshman Trask Iosefa (center) appeared in the starting lineup. Defensively, four made their first career starts in senior Corey Boudreaux (free safety), sophomores Luke Laolagi (middle linebacker) and Peter Nelson (defensive tackle) and redshirt freshman B.J. Williams (rush end).

* - Aztec senior placekicker Garrett Palmer extended his streak of consecutive extra-point attempts made, hitting his 55th and 56th straight. The streak dates back to the Ohio State game in 2005.

* - Senior wideout Brett Swain logged a reception in his 15th straight game.
ALL GOOD THINGS...
* - One streak came to an end in the first quarter, as quarterback Kevin O'Connell had completed 63 straight passes without throwing an interception until WSU's Alfonso Jackson picked one off.
RECORD BOOK
* - Aztec quarterback Kevin O'Connell moved into eighth place in the school career passing yardage chart, passing Mark Halda and Tim Gutierrez. He also jumped to fifth in career completions, moving up two slots past Adam Hall and David Lowery ... With his 22nd career start at QB, he is now tied with Brian Sipe for fifth in school history. O'Connell logged his 12th career 200-yard passing game.
MORE MOUGEY
* - Converted wide receiver Darren Mougey had a standout first game since moving from behind center. Mougey logged his first career reception and touchdown, giving him at least one career TD passing, rushing and receiving. It was his first career catch since his junior year in high school.
AZTEC FIRSTS
* - Senior tight end Steve Schmidt recorded his first career catch on the team's first drive of the game ... Redshirt freshman running back Brandon Sullivan logged his first career reception... 18 players saw their first career action in an Aztec uniform ... Cornerback Vonnie Holmes logged his first career interception in his first career outing.
