The fourth in a daily series during fall camp, get to know junior transfer, wide receiver Bryan Dougherty.

GoAztecs.com: What have been your impressions of your first practices?
Dougherty:
They've been a little rough, because you can't simulate practice conditions doing your own workouts and running in the summer.

GoAztecs.com: What has wide receivers coach LeCharls McDaniel been working on with you the most?
Dougherty:
He's been pushing me to get better with my route running. Coach McDaniel was one of the reasons I came to San Diego State and he's been giving me good advice on how to become better at my position.

GoAztecs.com: How is starting Aztec quarterback Kevin O'Connell different than other quarterbacks you have caught balls from?
Dougherty:
Kevin is really precise. He puts the ball on your hands with good accuracy.

GoAztecs.com: What are you going to miss most about your home in Salinas, Calif.?
Dougherty:
Just my family. I'm really happy to be down here in San Diego. You can't beat the weather and I have an opportunity to play football at the collegiate level.

GoAztecs.com: What was your favorite high school memory?
Dougherty:
My favorite memory was the homecoming game of my junior year. I was able to catch a couple of touchdown passes that put my team (Salinas High) in the lead over Hollister.

GoAztecs.com: Being from the Bay area, are you a Giants or A's fan?
Dougherty:
I've been a big fan of the Giants my whole life. I love going games at AT&T Park.

GoAztecs.com: Were you watching the Giants the night Barry Bonds broke Hank Aaron's home run record?
Dougherty:
I was. As a Giants fan, it was an unbelievable moment. It was a long time coming, but worth the wait.

GoAztecs.com: What is one place you've never traveled to that you would like to visit?
Dougherty:
Venice, Italy. I like the architecture of the city and how people travel on the canals by riding gondolas.

GoAztecs.com: If you weren't playing football, what sport would you be playing?
Dougherty:
I would have to say baseball. I was also a baseball player in high school. I loved pitching and running the bases. I throw a curve ball with a sharp break.
