TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - San Diego State men's soccer incoming freshmen Gemechu Abraham and Kellen Frye have been picked by College Soccer News as 100 Freshmen From Coast To Coast To Keep An Eye On.

Abraham (5-9, 160), a Beaverton, Ore., native, brings national team experience to The Mesa and will add to an already talented backfield. He was a member of the U.S. U-17 National Team Pool and was a Region IV ODP starter. Abraham captained the Oregon ODP team and also garnered all-Metro League accolades in 2006.

Frye (5-11,165), a 2003 U.S. National Team Pool member, comes to San Diego State from club power Colorado Rush and Chatfield HS. A defender, Frye is a three-time Region IV ODP player (2003-05) and four-time Colorado ODP player (2003-06). He was named first-team all-Colorado and was a first-team 5A all-state selection in 2006. Frye was also a three-time all-conference player.

The announcement came six days after the same publication rated the incoming recruiting class No. 19 in the nation. College Soccer News also ranked San Diego State No. 25 in the preseason poll.

SDSU returns seven starters from last fall's squad which finished with a 9-6-4 record and a second-place finish in the Pac-10 while advancing to the NCAA Tournament for the second consecutive season.

The Aztecs begin the season on the road against No. 21 Creighton on Aug. 31 before playing host to UC Riverside at noon on Sept. 3.
