ATHENS, Ga. - The San Diego State men's tennis team officially saw its season come to an end as 32nd-ranked Christian Groh and Markus Dickhardt dropped a 6-2, 6-4 decision to No. 4 Danny Bryan and Colt Gaston of LSU in the round of 16 at the NCAA doubles championship contested at Dan Magill Tennis Complex. With the loss, the Aztecs' top doubles team ends the 2007 season with a 14-8 overall record.

In the first set, the Tigers' tandem played extremely well as they broke SDSU's serve and carried the momentum to a 6-2 victory. The second set was a different story as the Aztecs matched LSU game-for-game and found themselves tied at 4 with their season hanging in the balance. However after an unfortunate San Diego State volley error, Bryan-Gaston went on to pocket the next two games to win the match in straight sets.

Despite the loss, Groh and Dickhardt's second-round appearance marked the second consecutive season in which an SDSU duo has advanced past the first round. Last season, Dickhardt and Benedikt Stronk reached the quarterfinals and earned All-America honors for their efforts.
