SAN DIEGO - Two San Diego State women's tennis players, sophomore Holly Bagshaw and junior Eliska Krausova, were listed among the top 100 singles players in nation, according to the first 2007 FILA Collegiate Tennis Rankings released Tuesday by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). Bagshaw currently sits at No. 51 in the poll, while fellow teammate Krausova finds herself at No. 69.

Bagshaw compiled a 7-4 record during the fall campaign, which included four straight victories at the Wilson/ITA West Regional Championships in October. With two upsets to her credit, the Potters Bar, England, native became the tournament's lone unseeded player to advance to the quarterfinal round.

Krausova, meanwhile, enjoyed similar success at the SDSU Fall Tennis Classic in November, when she posted three wins en route to an appearance in the main draw semifinals. The Prague, Czech Republic, product finished the fall with a 7-3 mark.

In the team rankings, SDSU was the third among Mountain West Conference schools, coming in at No. 39 behind TCU (16th) and Brigham Young (30th).

San Diego State opens its dual-match season at home on Saturday, Jan. 20, with a doubleheader at Aztec Tennis Center. Head coach Peter Mattera and the Aztecs will square off against Cal State Fullerton beginning at 9 a.m., followed by a clash with UC Riverside at 3 p.m.

SDSU returns six letterwinners from a 2006 squad which made its ninth NCAA tournament appearance in the last 11 years and finished the season ranked 38th in the nation.
