FORT WORTH, Texas - San Diego got a split decision at Saturday's double dual meet in Fort Worth, Texas, as it defeated Centenary, 72-39, but fell to host TCU, 71-40. The third leg of the event saw TCU defeat Centenary by a score of 77-32.

With the win and loss, the Aztecs find themselves with an overall record of 5-6 and a 1-5 mark in the Mountain West Conference. The two victories improved the Horned Frogs to 8-3 (2-3 MWC) while Centenary dropped to 2-4 on the season.

San Diego State picked up a pair of first-place finishes on the day, those coming by a pair of swimmers who were second in their individual events on Friday at the dual meet at North Texas.

Junior Katie Smith won her specialty, the 100 backstroke, in a time of 59.55 as she tied her best mark of the season, which she previously set against Brigham Young on Nov. 11. SDSU's other win came in the 100 breaststroke, where freshman Jessica Morrill went 1:07.92 to capture top honors.

The Aztecs also received second-place finishes from both Kimberlee Frith and Brittany Daly. Frith was runner-up in both the 100 and 200 freestyle with times of 54:18 and 1:56.65 respectively. Daly, meanwhile, picked up a second-place finish in the 500 free with a time of 5:12.82.

In the one-meter diving, Caitlin Atkinson, who set a school record in the event on Friday, finished second with 255.29 points. It was the freshman's second-highest point total of the season. Teammate Megan Flanagan also recorded her second-best effort of the 2006-07 campaign, finishing third with 248.16 points.

Flanagan, who established a new SDSU mark in the three-meter diving competition on Friday, was SDSU's top finisher in that event on Saturday. Her 257.55 points was good for third place.

The Aztecs now return home and prepare to take on conference foe Wyoming in a dual meet on Tuesday, Nov. 21, at 1:00 p.m. (PST) at the Ray & Joan Kroc Community Center. It will be SDSU's last meet for three weeks as their next scheduled competition is at UNLV on Dec. 16.
