BEIJING, China - San Diego State sophomore Corri Campbell-Fell set a personal-best time in the 400-meter hurdles while competing for the Canadian junior national team at the 11th International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) World Junior Championships in Beijing, China.
Campbell-Fell finished with a career-best time of 59.22 seconds, the 17th-fastest time among the four heats, and was just .08 seconds away from qualifying for the semifinal round. Her previous top time was 59.98 seconds.
The Vancouver, Canada, native earned her way onto the national squad after her performance at the Canadian Junior Track and Field Championships. Campbell-Fell recorded a 400-meter hurdle time of 1 minute, .77 seconds, the second-fastest effort in the field of 16 competitors, during the late July meet.
