JUNCTION CITY, Ore. - After the first two rounds at the Oregon Duck Invitational, hosted by the University of Oregon, the San Diego State men's golf team ended the day in first after carding scores of 288-278--566 on the 72-par, 6,807 Shadow Hills Country Club golf course in Junction City, Ore.

In the first round, the Aztecs were tied for second with the University of Nevada, and were three shots under, then-leader, Oregon State University, who held the lead with a 285. After four out of the five participating, SDSU golfers shot their second rounds under par, the Aztecs made a move into first, to sit eight shots ahead of Oregon State.

Led by sophomore Aaron Goldberg, who ended the day tied for second with a 3-under, 141, seniors Andrew Scott and Josh Warthen, who tied for fourth with a 142 (-2), helped round out the top 5 in the individual competition for the Aztecs. Sophomores David Palm and Cory Segall tied for 26th and 30th respectively.

Participating as an individual in his first spring tournament this season, junior Jason Puterbaugh ended the day in an eight-way tie for 15th, as he carded a 145 (+1).

The Aztecs will conclude the tournament tomorrow with the final round starting at 8 a.m.
