LOS ANGELES - San Diego State concluded the LMU Invitational in Los Angeles with a perfect 4-0 record as a result of its 11-3 victory over Redlands and its 14-3 win vs. Chapman on Saturday. It is the second consecutive invitational where the Aztecs have gone undefeated having gone 4-0 at the Wolverine Invitational last weekend, March 18-19. SDSU, winners of seven straight, watch its record climb to 16-5 on the season.

In the match vs. Redlands, both schools struggled in the opening quarter as the first goal, Anna Gonzales' 17th of the season, was tallied with 3:13 remaining. The freshman's goal jumpstarted SDSU as Elana Cervantes notched the game's second score 1 minute, 8 seconds later followed by the first of three goals by Jenna Schuster as time expired.

Even though the Aztecs allowed a Redlands goal in the second period, SDSU scored four of their own to take a commanding 7-1 lead into the halftime break.

In the third quarter, Redlands outscored San Diego State, 2-1, to trim the Aztec lead to five. However in the fourth period, SDSU received two goals from Schuster and one from Cassie Zebisch to put Redlands away.

Later in the day, the Aztecs held its fourth consecutive opponent scoreless in the first quarter, while posting six goals of their own. Cervantes scored all three of her goals in the opening stanza, while Cia Cobb, Schuster and Becca Ur rounding out the scoring.

The second period featured fewer goals as Rachel Serna and Ashley McCullum each scored a goal apiece and Chapman's Kristin Carter was able to find the back of the net to cut SDSU's lead to 8-1 going into the break.

Over the final two quarters, the Aztecs outscored the Panthers 6-2 to provide the contest's 14-3 final score.

Goalie Sarah Kilgore tallied five saves vs. Chapman, while Heather Fenske stopped six shots.

San Diego State's seven-match winning streak is its longest since 2004 when it won seven straight. That season, the Aztecs posted a school-best record of 26-9 (8-3 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation).

SDSU continues its long road trip Sunday, March 26, as it travels to Irvine, Calif., for an MPSF match against UC Irvine at 11 a.m. Following the game, the Aztecs will take on Maryland in a non-conference tilt at UCI at 1 p.m.
