SAN DIEGO - Junior Emily Parker won the 500 and 1,000 freestyle and two other Aztecs took first in their events to pace the San Diego State swimming and diving team to a 180-107 triumph over Loyola Marymount at the Ray and Joan Croc Community Center on Friday afternoon. SDSU (4-6, 1-6 Mountain West Conference) also dropped a 163-128 decision to TCU in the tri-meet.
Parker raced to a season-best time of 10 minutes, 34.76 seconds in the 1,000 free and later won the 500 free in 5:08.61.
Junior Stella Karoly took first in the 200 butterfly (2:10.92) and finished second in the 100 fly (1:00.09), while sophomore Katie Smith won the 200 backstroke in a season-low time of 2:07.67.
Other Aztec highlights on the afternoon went to senior Samantha Peters in the 100 free (second, 53.68), junior Sarah Davis in the 400 individual medley (second, 4:38.92) and freshman Rosalie Raymond (second, 10:59.02) in the 1,000 free.
SDSU will compete in the 26th Annual UC Irvine/Ayres Hotel & Suites Invitational in Irvine, Calif., on Saturday and Sunday.
