Slaughter Paces Aztecs Past Rebels, 83-67

SAN DIEGO (AP) - Marcus Slaughter had 20 points and 20 rebounds as San Diego State beat UNLV 83-67 Saturday night in Mountain West Conference play.

Slaughter was 12-of-14 from the free-throw line and blocked five shots. Brandon Heath had 17 points, John Sharper 11 points and Kyle Spain 10 points.

Slaughter helped spark a 21-5 run at the start of the second half as San Diego State (10-6, 3-1) wiped out a 38-32 halftime deficit. His rebound dunk ignited a 16-1 run in the final five minutes of the game after UNLV had pulled to within four points at 67-63.

Jason Petrimoulx led the Rebels (8-7, 2-1) with 15 points. Curtis Terry added 12 points and Wendell White had 11 points. The loss ended a four-game UNLV winning streak.
