HONOLULU - Junior Kimberlee Frith won two events to lead the San Diego State swimming and diving team in a quad-meet in Honolulu, Hawaii, on Saturday afternoon. The Host Rainbow Wahine, Connecticut and Drury (Mo.) were the other three teams who competed in the non-scoring meet.
Frith won the 100 freestyle in 52.73 seconds, the fifth-fastest time in Aztec history, and took first in the 200 free (1:53.69) by almost two seconds over Drury's Ashley Gorman (1:55.38).
Senior Samantha Peters took third in the 50 free (24.73) and was fourth in the 100 free (54.10) for SDSU, while junior Sarah Davis (200 individual medley, 2:11.68), junior Stella Karoly (200 butterfly, 2:10.71) and freshman Lizette Patterson (200 breaststroke, 2:25.79) each recorded fourth-place finishes in their respective events.
In relay competition, the 200 free relay of Peters, senior Emily Schmied, junior Rachel Rife and Frith took second with a time of 1:39.33.
The Aztecs return to action on Jan. 19, when they host Northern Colorado in the Ray & Joan Kroc Community Center at 1 p.m.
