SAN DIEGO - San Diego State senior forward Trimaine Davis had surgery on his right knee Wednesday afternoon to remove a bone chip and is expected to miss the next three to four weeks, Aztec coach Steve Fisher said.
Davis, the team captain, is averaging 9.0 points, 2.3 rebounds and has connected on 66.7 percent of his attempts from the field through the first four games of the season. The 6-7 forward has started all four games this season and has scored in double figures twice this season.
"The good news is that I have spoken with Dr. Chris Behr, who performed the arthroscopic surgery earlier today, and everything went well." Fisher said. "He had a similar surgery in 2003 and we are optimistic that he will make a quick and speedy recovery."
Davis has played in 74 games for the Aztecs and owns a career field goal percentage of 58.6 percent. That is the highest career field goal percentage for any Aztec player with at least 68 attempts.
