Top Ten Reasons to Attend the 2005 Aztec Soccer Academy:
#10 Who's doing the talking---unlike many other camps, every training session will be run by a member of the coaching staff of SDSU. Camp is not cheap, and we believe that you deserve the best training available. The only way to guarantee that is to make sure that all sessions are run by professional Division I coaches.
#9 San Diego weather--we hope that you can get use to 72 degree weather!
#8 San Diego scenery--we hope you can get use to ocean sunsets and mountain vistas!
#7 The Mike Friesen Finishing School--Assistant coach Mike Friesen is credited with training some of the top goal scorers in the west in the past few years. One of the players on the 2004 NCAA Division I regional team credits him with transforming the way that she plays. If you are serious about scoring goals, then this is the camp for you.
#6 The Foundation of Champions--Head coach Mike Giuliano took his former teams to four Collegiate National Championships, and in his first year at SDSU, they advanced farther than they have in many, many years. His entire training plan is based upon the unique "nine foundational principles of championship soccer," and you will learn each and every one of them this week.
#5 You can have it all--it is possible to train at the highest levels and still have an outrageous amount of fun. We are an intense coaching staff, but we are not yellers and screamers. You will always be treated with respect and dignity, and you will always be reminded to have fun while you train.
#4 The Reviews--the camper reviews from last year were absolutely amazing. Rather than simply quote a few here, many of the campers mentioned that they would love to talk to you by phone or email about their experience. If you have any doubts about whether or not this will be your best camp experience ever, let's get you in touch with a camper from our first Academy from last year.
#3 Twilight storytime--each evening is capped off with a very brief time of storytelling about amazing events from the world of soccer. Last year's campers called it "one of coolest parts of the camp." We laugh a little, we cry a little, and we share stories that will stay with you long after the Academy is over.
#2 Recruiting 101--you will also be given the chance to hear the "behind the scenes ins and outs" of the world of college recruiting. The coaching staff will hold four optional talks: Top Ten Mistakes Recruits Make When Trying to get Recruited, How to Get Recruited to the College of Your Dreams, Asking the Right Questions When Attempting to Choose a College, Top Ten Worse Reasons for Choosing a College Soccer Program. We guarantee that you will hear ideas that you have never heard before.
#1 The Laughs--and the #1 reason for choosing the Aztec Soccer Academy is...you get to hear Mike and Mike's jokes all week! We are really not that funny, but we think we are, so that turns out to be funnier than if our jokes were actually funny!
