WALNUT, Calif. - Junior Nicole Carmier (Elk Grove, Calif.) won the University/Open high jump on the second day of competition at the 47th annual Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif., on Saturday. Monica Pacas (Atascadero, Calif.) also competed at the Relays for the San Diego State track and field team, while numerous other athletes participated in the Springco-Long Beach Invitational.

Carmier cleared 5 feet, 7.25 inches to take first of 14 competitors in the high jump, a day after running the ninth-fastest time ever by an Aztec (2 minutes, 10.40 seconds) in the 800-meter run.

Pacas finished fifth in the University/Open pole vault, clearing 12-5 ¼. It is the third consecutive meet the freshman has made a NCAA regional qualifying vault.

At the Springco-Long Beach Invitational, senior Jennifer Greene (San Diego) won the triple jump in a personal-best mark of 38-7 ¾ and was 12th in the long jump (17-4).

Other notable SDSU performances on the day went to junior Larnie Boyd (Vallejo, Calif.), who set season-best times in both the 200 (25.26) and the 400 (56.42), and freshmen Raquel Butler (Gilroy, Calif.) and Briana Powell (Long Beach, Calif.), who had season-best marks in the 200 (25.68) and 800 (2:20.69), respectively.

Seven Aztecs will compete in the final day of competition at the Mt. SAC Relays on Sunday.
