OKLAHOMA CITY - The San Diego State swimming and diving team completed day two of the Mountain West Conference swimming and diving championships at Oklahoma City Community College. The Aztecs currently sit in eighth place (73 pts.) and over the course of the day, set a school record in the 200-yard freestyle relay.

The team of Samantha Peters, Adrienne Conte, Tamarah Binek and Caitlin Friedhoff swam a school-best time of 1:36.54 in the 15th event of the championships. The quartet's time was 0.23 seconds faster than the previous school record of 1:36.77, set during the 2001-02 season by Jennifer Graham, Hannah Ryan, Alletta Haff and Heather DeFelice.

The Aztecs also competed in the 500-yard freestyle, 200-yard individual medley, 50-yard freestyle, and three-meter diving events.

Day three of the 2005 MWC swimming and diving championships continue tomorrow with the preliminary events beginning at 10 a.m. CST and finals to follow at 6 p.m.
