SAN DIEGO STATE POSTGAME QUOTES
Head Coach Steve Fisher:
On The Game:
"What we needed to do, and did, against CSU was to rebound, attack the basket and handle the ball at full court. We hung in and it is good to be at home. The team and I, both, are aware that it is good to be at home. Last year, we lost to CSU in double overtime and we lost our legs and got beat by Wyoming. We hung in and I am proud of the team."
On the student turnout:
"Someone told me that the student crowd reached 3,200. That is just absolutely sensational. We really appreciate it and value everyone that came out tonight. That is the kind of turnout that we want to get from here on out."
On the upcoming road trip:
"It is not going to be an easy trip. Air Force has one of the longest home winning streaks. When we go in there, we have to value the ball and stay focused on the game."
SDSU Player Quotes:
Brandon Heath:
On the game
"We lost one at home earlier, but we won tonight and now we have to take our business on the road like we have been doing. Every game is going to be close, it is going to come down to the last few minutes in this conference. That's college basketball."
Chris Walton:
On his performance:
"I got good shots. We scouted their defense really well. Brandon Heath, Marcus Slaughter and Chris Manker gave me great looks all night. It was just a matter of putting them in the basket."
On the Air Force game Saturday:
"It is going to be a grind. It is going to be a battle like it always is when we play a team like Air Force. We have had good luck on the road this year, so we are looking forward to it."
On the game:
"We knew we had the capability to do this. We should be 4-0 right now, but we took care of it at home. Now we have to go on the road."
Colorado State Head Coach Dale Layer:
On the game:
"I thought SDSU played exceptionally well tonight. That is probably the best that I have seen them play."
"We did a really good job on Brandon Heath tonight, but it was the other players who beat us. Chris Walton was the difference tonight."
On the atmosphere:
"It was a great atmosphere here. SDSU did a really good job of getting their student here."
