IRVINE, Calif. - The San Diego State swimming and diving team completed the final day of the 25th Annual UCI/Ayres Hotel & Suites Invitational on Sunday with the final meet of the invitational and the conclusion of the diving competition taking place.
Despite adverse weather conditions, the Aztecs tallied 164 points to finish fifth in the Relay Meet. The SDSU `A' team swam a season-high time of 1:52.07 in the 200-yard medley relay to finish in fifth.
San Diego State's best effort was a fourth-place showing in the 300-yard butterfly relay. The SDSU `A' team finished the relay with a time of 3:04.57. On the day, a total of 11 SDSU squads finished in the top-10 of 10 different relays.
In the one-meter diving event, both San Diego State divers made the cut after six dives. Freshman Joelle Felton notched a total of 463.30 points to finish in fourth place. Fellow freshman Kathleen Heuring finished ninth with a 12-dive total of 437.90 points.
The Aztecs will next be in action on Jan. 22 when they compete in a non-conference meet at Hawai'i.
