San Diego State Head Coach Steve Fisher:

On The Game

"We needed to make a couple of plays, maybe more than a couple of plays, to win the game. We had too many 50-50 plays that didn't go our way. Sometimes you've got to get a little lucky on the 50-50 plays. We're disappointed but we can't be discouraged."

"We needed better accuracy. We missed some free throws and some shots off of some pretty good looks, and they made plays when they had to make plays. That's what good teams do - make plays that you need to win. They made some good plays, some shots that might have appeared to be lucky, and some very skilled plays."

Sophomore forward Marcus Slaughter

On the game:

"We played a lot of people. We played well, but did not play well as a team. We have to continue to work hard in practice and keep improving."

Sophomore guard Brandon Heath:

On the game:

"The game had its ups and downs. What you have to understand is that we were playing from behind for what seemed like the whole 40 minutes. We had the lead for awhile, but the problem was that we just could not finish. For the next game, we have to play a full 40 minutes."

On SDSU's Shooting

"It's funny how you shoot so many threes and you are still down, but I guess the reason we couldn't take the lead was because we couldn't hold it together on the defensive end."

Saint Mary's Head Coach Randy Bennett:

On Paul Marigney:

"He was great. He definitely wasn't all the way healthy, but we needed him tonight. Not many people can come back from not playing for six weeks and still contribute, but he did. When he is healthy, he can play all 40 minutes for us. We had to use him in six or seven minute spurts tonight. He gives us another scorer which always helps."

On the Aztecs and Cox Arena:

"It's a tough place to play. To come in here and pull out the victory is great for our team. They will get better. They are quick and gave us problems, but we made some clutch shots down the stretch."
