SAN DIEGO - San Diego State women's tennis head coach Peter Mattera announced today the signing of Esther Cadua of San Diego to a National Letter of Intent. Cadua will join the Aztecs in the fall of 2005.

"Esther is a great athlete," said Mattera. "She is tremendously dedicated and we expect her to come in and help us right away, in both singles and doubles. She will be a great student-athlete."

Cadua is ranked No. 111 nationally and is the No. 28 rated player in the southern California region in the Girls 18 division. She is currently attending Faithful Ambassadors Bible Baptist Academy in National City, Calif.

In addition to playing in some of the most competitive tournaments in California, Cadua competed in the prestigious Girls 18 USTA National Championships in San Jose, Calif. earlier in this summer.

Cadua will join an experienced Aztec squad that will return eight letter winners off of this season's roster.
