Recap | Final Stats | Notes
- Head Coach Steve Fisher:
On the game: "We were pleased that we walked into halftime with five turnovers. Statistics can say what they want to say, but I felt good about the way we played in the first half. We were sluggish and disjointed in the second half."
On his substitutions: "When we practice there's not a whole lot of difference between group `A' and `B'. When there was that five-man rotation that came in together, I wasn't surprised that they played well. Trimaine (Davis) always gives good energy and we were able to stretch our defense with (Chris) Manker."
SDSU Player Quotes:
Marcus Slaughter: On his game: "Over the summer we worked out hard and tonight we saw it pay off. Coach and Aerick (Sanders) have helped me become a better player. Coach told me that I have to be more consistent and I think I have changed that this year. I'm not feeling the pressure when I'm on the floor and I just have to go out and do it every game."
Chris Walton: On the game: "They weren't especially big inside and that's what we were told to exploit. Our plan was to get on the inside first and feed it to Mohamed (Camara)."
On Coach Fisher's rotation: "I knew everyone would get an opportunity to play. Coach talked about a fixed rotation of substitutions, so it was good to see a lot of guys like Shawn Weinstein and Tyler Smith get a lot of playing time to help out and get on the floor."
Cal State San Bernardino Head Coach Jeff Oliver:
On the game: "My biggest disappointment is we didn't apply defensively what we were working on the first 14 days of practice, that cost us quite a few baskets tonight. I thought our biggest downfall for us was giving up the number of offensive rebounds, that was the main focus coming in, to limit their second shots and we didn't do a very good job of that."
On SDSU: "I think they have a lot of good pieces. They have good size, they have good guard play and they shot the ball really well tonight. When you have good size and can stretch the defense with the perimeter shooting they have, that can cause some problems."
