SAN DIEGO - San Diego State's doubles team of senior Armando Carrascosa and junior Daniel Jung lost an 8-3 decision to Janne Holmia and Greg Oullete of Florida in the second round of qualifying at the ICY HOT ITA All-American Tournament.

The duo, which received a first round bye in pre-qualifying, won two matches to be eligible for the qualifying round that began on Monday. In the qualifying round of 64, the two faced Jose Murguruza and Marko Rajevac of Georgia Tech and won, 8-4, to set up a date with the team from Florida. But after competing in four matches in five days, Carrascosa and Jung could not come up with the victory.

The first leg of the college grand slam wraps up a successful start for the Aztecs in which three doubles teams and three individuals made it through the pre-qualifying rounds to give themselves the opportunity to qualify for the main draw.

Next up for the Aztecs will be the ITA Western Championships in Malibu, Calif., during the week of Oct. 20-25.
