SAN DIEGO - Armando Carrascosa advanced to the final match of Wilson/ITA Regional Tennis Championship held at Ralphs-Stratus Tennis Center on Sunday. The senior won a 3-6, 6-4, 7-6 (8-6) decision over Pepperdine's Scott Doerner (9-16).

The match was hard fought by both individuals with Carrascosa losing the first the set 3-6. But after the senior tied the match at two sets apiece, the third set went into a tiebreaker.

The tiebreaker started out with both players holding serve for the first four points until Carrascosa double faulted to give Doerner a 3-2 advantage which later became a 4-2 lead.

At that point, the match turned in favor of Carrascosa as he went on to win the next four-of-six points. With the victory, Carrascosa will face UCLA's Ben Kohlloeffel, who was a winner over teammate Alberto Francis, 6-4, 6-1, on Monday.

The championship final is slated for a 12:45 p.m. start on Monday in Malibu, Calif.
