CALIMESA, Calif. - San Diego State men's golf team completed the first two rounds at the UCLA Gold Rush with team scores of +8 and +10. The Aztec "B" team finished the round of 36 at the PGA of Southern California Golf Club in tenth place with a combined score of 584 and the "A" squad shot a 586, tied for 12th place with UC Irvine.
Leading the way for the Aztecs was Chad Moscovic. The junior shot a 71 in the first round on the PGA of Southern California's Legends course and he followed up his performance with a par 72 score on the Champions course. After the today's play, Moscovic currently is in a tie for 18th place, ten shots behind Cal Poly's Travis Bertoni (-11).
Senior Josh Warthen shot a first round 71 and ended the day in a tie for 27th at even par. Aaron Goldberg sits in a tie for 36th and is at +1. Chris Freeman and Andrew Scott both shot a 146 (+2) and are in a tie for 51st place.
Other notables for San Diego State include Linus Nelson (+4), Aaron Choi (+5), Chris Cole (+8), Gilberto Rodriguez (+8), and Jason Puterbaugh (+9).
The Aztecs continue the third and final round of the tournament on Saturday, Sept. 18.
