PALO ALTO, Calif. - San Diego State was defeated by No. 2 Stanford 6-1 in MPSF action on Saturday in Palo Alto. The Aztecs fell behind early and could never recover as the Cardinal defense held SDSU scoreless over the last three quarters. No. 5 SDSU falls to 12-3 overall and 2-1 in the MPSF.
Sandy Onweller scored the only Aztec goal in the first period, but after the quarter SDSU still trailed 4-1. Stanford posted one goal in the next two quarters to secure the win. Ashley Zabel made seven saves in the cage.
SDSU will travel to San Jose State for another conference contest on Sunday at 1 p.m.
